Splash For Cash at St Ninian's Primary School
Splash For Cash
Chris Flanagan, headteacher of St Ninian’s RC Primary School Newton Stewart, agreed to get “splashed for cash” on the last day of the school term.
Pupils and friends of the school paid to throw wet sponges [priced 50p] or whole buckets of water [£5] in order to raise funds for Milo School, Malawi. St Ninian’s and St Joseph’s School, Stranraer have been supporting Milo School over a number of years and the “big splash” raised a magnificent £682.50. This sum was boosted by a very generous donation from a donor who wishes to remain anonymous.
Chris, and his wife Edwina, are to travel to Malawi in October to see how the money has been spent on much needed school equipment and resources.
“I didn’t realise I had so many ‘friends’ who were eager to raise so much cash “ said a soaked headteacher after the event.
