St. Ninian's RC Primary School
Our parishes enjoy a close association with St. Ninian’s Catholic Primary School in Newton Stewart. Although small the school plays a very important part in parish life and contributes successfully to the wider community.

The Story of Baboushka
The pupils of St Ninian’s RC Primary, Newton Stewart presented the story of Baboushka to their friends and families in Our Lady and St Ninian’s Church, Newton Stewart. This is a traditional Russian tale of an old woman who is at first too busy to listen to her visitors telling of the birth of the baby Jesus. When she realises that this is indeed a special baby who has been born she sets out to visit the stable herself. In this retelling of the tale Baboushka reaches the stable in time to see the baby. The pupils of Glentrool School helped to provide the musical accompaniment to the story.
