Let us pray: (A. Genera)l: Merciful God, Father of history and sovereign Lord of the earth, we thank you for raising up Saint Ninian and sending him to preach the Gospel of your Son from the shores of Whithorn to the people of Scotland. In the immensity of your tender and compassionate heart, hear and grant the prayers which he makes on our behalf. Return to us, Lord; send forth your Spirit and renew the face of your Church in our land.
Let us pray (B. On occasion of a pilgrimage): We pray that our pilgrimage to the Cave where Ninian first took refuge in Scotland may win for us a share in his zealous and apostolic spirit. In the strength of that grace, may we reflect the brilliant light of your Truth upon others on our pilgrimage on earth. Then, with all our forefathers and with all who come after us, may we come at last, together with St. Ninian, to the Heavenly Jerusalem.
(A+B): Praise and glory to you, Lord God, and honour to St. Ninian, through Christ our Lord. Amen
